Will Andhra Pradesh Get A Direct Dubai Flight? Emirates Conducts Feasibility Research

Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada are each pushing for a direct Emirates flight to Dubai, aiming to enhance connectivity for vacationers heading to Europe and the U.S.
A delegation from Emirates is at present in talks with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Vijayawada Airport Director Lakshmikant Reddy to evaluate the feasibility of launching a Dubai-Vijayawada route.
At current, Visakhapatnam gives direct flights to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok, whereas Vijayawada has had a direct Sharjah connection by way of Air India Categorical since October 2022. Airways like Scoot and AirAsia function worldwide flights from Visakhapatnam Worldwide Airport.
And not using a direct Dubai flight, passengers are pressured to take longer routes with layovers in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Bangkok, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur.
The Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Business Federation has already urged the federal government to introduce a direct Dubai flight, citing rising demand. With capital growth in Amaravati underway, the TDP-led NDA coalition is prioritizing enhanced air connectivity for Vijayawada, each domestically and internationally.
