London Luton Airport’s Profession Workshops Affect Over 200 College students With a Highly effective Focus On Expertise, Sustainability, and Accessibility

Volunteers from London Luton Airport (LLA) not too long ago organized a collection of profession and expertise growth workshops, reaching over 200 native Yr 8 and Yr 9 college students.
The initiative noticed 30 staff from varied departments, together with Operations, Safety, Sustainability, Well being & Security, and Visitor Expertise, take part as volunteers. The programme, created in collaboration with the social enterprise Expertise Builder, goals to help college students in constructing important office expertise.
The ‘Essential Skills in Aviation’ workshops are designed to supply college students beneficial profession steerage and put together them for future employment. Colleges can select from three focus areas: early profession expertise attraction, sustainability, or accessibility, offering tailor-made studying experiences.

As a major local employer for a wide range of professions and trades, London Luton Airport is ideally placed to invest in skills development and education in the community. Our education outreach programme has been led by our amazing sustainability team, supported by colleagues across LLA, many of whom have benefitted from LLA’s own career development programmes. Our aim is to shine a light on the many exciting career pathways that the aviation industry can offer, whilst continuing to make a positive social impact on our local communities.”

Skills Builder looks forward to continuing to support the airport’s Social Mobility and Sustainability goals, to ensure everyone is equipped with the essential skills to succeed, as the outreach and employability programmes expand over the coming year. The outreach program is crafted to align with Luton Council’s 2040 imaginative and prescient and technique. In collaboration with Luton Council’s schooling and studying workforce, the airport is working carefully to develop the initiative and choose native faculties for partnership.
