This collaboration marks a major milestone as Liege Airport acquires a ten% stake in LLI, beforehand held by Novandi, positioning each entities for higher integration and effectivity in freight operations.
The partnership will see the event of a state-of-the-art multimodal platform, combining air, rail, and street transport modes. This integration goals to streamline the motion of products throughout varied transport channels, reinforcing Liege’s place as a key logistics hub in Europe.
As a part of the venture’s first part, Liege Airport has dedicated to investing €22 million by 2030. The funds might be used to modernize and increase the present road-rail hub managed by LLI. Deliberate upgrades embody bringing rail tracks in step with European requirements, putting in gantry cranes, and enhancing entry roads to facilitate smoother freight actions.
Within the second part, the venture will deal with creating new entry factors, redesigning roadways, establishing a brand new storage and processing space for items, and establishing a horizontal piggyback loading platform.
