Iran says “NO” to digital communication gadgets on flights amid regional safety issues: Know extra

Iran’s Civil Aviation Group introduced on Saturday a ban on all digital communication gadgets, reminiscent of pagers and walkie-talkies, from airplane cabins and checked baggage.
The one exception to this rule is cell phones.
This choice follows heightened safety measures carried out by regional airways after a sequence of explosions in Lebanon final month, which have been linked to Hezbollah’s communication gadgets.
In response to those incidents, Dubai-based Emirates Airways was the primary to implement comparable restrictions on October 5, prohibiting the transport of pagers and walkie-talkies on flights to, from, or by way of Dubai.
Emirates has said that any such gadgets present in passengers’ hand baggage or checked baggage might be confiscated by Dubai Police.
