OneRepublic Reveals Singapore’s Affect on Their Newest Music in New Behind-the-Scenes Video
Friday, October 25, 2024
OneRepublic, in partnership with Common Music Singapore (UMSG) — a department of the worldwide music leisure chief Common Music Group (UMG) — and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), has unveiled a behind-the-scenes look into the creation of their mystical track ‘Singapore.’
OneRepublic shared: “This island is both eclectic and modern. When we wrote the track in Singapore, we were inspired by the colourful juxtaposition of the modern and heritage buildings set in this cultural melting pot.”
Captured throughout their current keep for the Method 1 Singapore Airways Singapore Grand Prix 2024, the video highlights lead vocalist Ryan Tedder and keyboardist Brian Willett traversing town. It presents insights into how Singapore’s distinctive structure and cultural experiences formed their music. The footage consists of scenes from numerous iconic areas, together with Marina One, the Peranakan Museum, Armenian Avenue, and the historic Outdated Hill Avenue Police Station.
Brian Willet, major songwriter of ‘Singapore’ shared: “With this track specifically, it’s like an external portrayal of creativity.”
Ryan Tedder, frontman and lead singer of OneRepublic, added: “The first time I heard Singapore fully mixed, I could see buildings shooting up from the ocean, the streets, the tapestry of creativity.”
Ms. Choo Huei Miin, Govt Director, Model, Singapore Tourism Board, mentioned: “The ‘Singapore’ track beautifully pays homage to our city’s essence – a harmonious blend of heritage and modernity. Inspired by the creativity and ingenuity of the track, we invite listeners worldwide to immerse in the journey that this track takes you through, in the vibrant and eclectic tapestry that Singapore offers.”
Alice Kent, nation head for Common Music Singapore, added: “Universal Music Singapore is proud to be part of such an inspirational collaboration about creativity and Singapore featuring one of the world’s biggest bands.”
